8 Months Later......

Well, life has been busy.

The journey took me away from blogging for a while - not much scrapping was being done, so it felt like there was not much to share - Facebook got more time & blogging less :o(

I have missed it, so I'm back.

Last term I decided to get back into scrapping & got some of the mums from school together for Wednesday morning sessions at my place - its fabulous motivation to get layouts done.

I'm loving the pennant/paper ribbon phase, as you can see:

It's been fabulous rummaging through my stash & USING stuff instead of buying more....in saying that I've got a full bag of goodies I bought from the Kaiser Craft outlet on the Gold Coast at Christmas time - so I really ought to make a dent in that!

The only new goodies I have treated myself to are some bakers twine & washi tape!!

I'm loving this relaxed scrapping, and to keep the mojo flowing I've booked in the the Indulgence Retreat in September and I can't wait!!

In the meantime, I'm off to Las Vegas to celebrate my sister's 40th - so there'll be plenty to scrap when I get back.....exciting times ahead for me!

I've Been Scrapping - YAY!!!

A couple of weeks ago the studio got a good clean up because I promised Taigy she could have a Tea Party in the school holidays & the benefits have just been ongoing...although it's in need of another tidy now :o)

I have managed to get started on Teachers Gifts for the need of the year {started, not finished :o)}

I'm making mini 2012 desktop calendars for a couple of teachers - these are so cute & easy to make!

Still a few to go on these.

For Taigy's tea party we made Memory Boxes...I haven't taken a photo yet, so will share that later - but I had a bunch of leftover square mats & that kicked off my scrappiness - I just decided to create a simple layout using up the squares & this is what I came up with:

 

I even did a double-page:

 

Those two were the little boost I needed to get back into the swing of things and then I delved into the stash & just kept going.......

School Holiday Stuff

Well, long time no see - there's been a bit of a change of scenery around here and it reflects my growing love of other artistic endeavours :o)

I was so inspired by Arts Week at school a couple of weeks ago that I decided to spend holiday time on art with the kids...along with baking and other cool stuff. Yesterday we worked on sharpie art - we're still in the practicing stage, but we have canvases on stand-by for when we've each settled on our design. Our first attempt was inspired by this youtube video:

The kids are really enjoying doing these and I can't wait til we graduate from pencil to sharpie!!

This is a great activity for those wet holi-days :o)

Today we headed to Uxbridge Arts Centre in Howick to check out a couple of exhibitions & we really enjoyed that...I can't wait to go to the Auckland Art Gallery later this week.

I'm loving these holidays.

Since then Wayno has gone out & bought me a decent piping kit YAY! So today I'll be attempting the Cook Yourself Thin vanilla cupcakes made with zuchini & practicing my piping - can't wait!

Auctions For Christchurch

My friend Louise has undertaken the massive effort to organise crafty auctions to aid the victims of the Christchurch Earthquake.

She has received a heap of donations from around the country & is running the auctions on facebook.

Last Minute Christmas Gift Tags

Well the final installment of the 12 Weeks of Christmas Newsletters has gone out today YIPPEE!

I'm always amazed at how quickly Christmas comes again each year! But it is fun creating these projects :o)

I was working on the Chistmas gift tags for the final email & ended up making another set.

I cracked open my Elements of Style & Extreme Elements after them sitting on the shelf for a few months and I'm so glad I did - these stamp sets are FABULOUS!

I used Elements of Style in the 12 Weeks newsletter, but have used Extreme Elements below - just some super quick tags to add to the last minute gifts ;o)

 

I also used the To/From stamp from Winter Post & the Noel stamp from Many Merry Messages - these are my core stamp sets for the Christmas season.
